SCO member states possess 20 - 25 % of world reserves of oil, 30 % - gas, 50 % - uranium

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states posses 20 - 25 % of world reserves of oil, 30 % - gas, 50 % - uranium. SCO Vice Secretary General Vladimir Zaharov informed today at the opening second session of the SCO forum.

"We received data, according to which the SCO member states possess approximately 20 - 25 % of stocks of oil, gas - about 30 %, uranium - 50 % of world reserves," V. Zaharov said. These parameters influence occurrence of the situation "when the SCO countries become not only self-sufficient in their economic development, but also very attractive to cooperation with other states."

"The program of multilateral economic cooperation and the plan of its realization including 127 projects covering energy, transport, commerce, telecommunication, agriculture and other areas have been accepted.
