KAZAKHSTAN PARLIAMENT RATIFIED UN CONVENTION AGAINST CORRUPTION

Astana. April 17. - The Senate deputies at the plenary session passed the law on ratification of the UN Convention against Corruption.

As it was informed earlier, the purpose of signing the Convention consists in assistance to acceptance and strengthening of the measures directed at more effective and effective prevention of corruption, in encouragement, simplification and support of the international cooperation in prevention corruption and struggle with it, including acceptance of the measures for returning the assets obtained illegally.

The Convention provides a complex of measures on corruption prevention, including in the sphere of public service, public purchases and management of public finance, and participation of society in corruption prevention.

The Convention was accepted by the UN General Assembly on October 31, 2003 in New York.

The law has been forwarded to the President of Kazakhstan.
