The most important is to respect the rule of law

Sergei Zlotnikov comments the arrest of Mukhtar Dzhakishev, former head of Kazatomprom for the online newspaper Zona.kz

I can tell only about common issues. Before the decision of the court no one can call any person a criminal - even law enforcement agencies. Law enforcement agencies do their job. Nevertheless, with such accusations, said in public, judges have simply nothing to do. And what about the secrecy of investigation? Another problem is the admission to the lawyers. The detainee generally has a right not to testify against himself and his family, especially without lawyer. The situation around Mukhtar Dzhakishev and Kazatomprom should not be the matter of exchanging the press conferences.

It would be more understandable for public if all actions around this case are carried out in the framework of legal procedures. Everybody knows the case against chairman of Aktobe Regional Court when general prosecutor's office called him a criminal, and court acquitted him. For these individuals there is a presumption of innocence, and the most important is to respect the rule of law. All the rest I can not comment.
