ASSESSMENT OF LEVEL OF TRANSPARENCY IN EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRY

Period of implementation: 2003

Present research has been conducted in the frameworks of global campaign "Publish what you pay". For today this campaign is supported by 110 international organisations, including Transparency International.

Goal:  

Get as much objective as possible assessment of transparency level and attitude towards the problem of corruption by foreign and national oil and gas companies operating in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Project results:

During the research TK sent questionnaires to 76 Kazakhstan and foreign companies operating within the extractive sector of economy of Kazakhstan. But we got responds only from 15 of them. Also TK conducted expert poll. There were questioned 60 experts: parliament deputies, officials, NGO representatives, independent experts.
