On November 15-16, 2002 in Almaty had taken place Round Table “Anti-corruption initiatives in Central Asia” devoted to actual problems connected to corruption and fight against it in Central Asian countries.
Organizers: Transparency International Secretariat and Transparency Kazakhstan.
The main object of the discussion was issues of public participation in anti-corruption activity, examples of successful interaction of civil society organisations and state institutes in Central Asia, consideration of international experience and prospects for supporting projects aimed at public oversight.
In the end of discussion participants founded the Anti-corruption coalition of Central Asian NGOs.
