The main theme for discussion at the Round Table was the problem of system corruption. System corruption caused by weakness of administrative system and lack of monitoring institutes.
Themes discussed at the Round Table:
- Public Service and its effectiveness, accountability of officials and transparent decision-making process. Mechanisms of public oversight.;
- State expenditures both at national and local levels.
- Number of state enterprises and private companies operating in public procurement system. Correspondence of their activity with Laws “On Public Procurements” and “On state enterprises”.
- Business in Kazakhstan, problems of illegal appropriation by state institutions related with the government, control functions. Irrational regulating of private sector.
- Corruption in headings of Mass Media. Access to governmental information.
