CORRUPTION IN PRIVATE SECTOR

Methods in business which sometime ago were considered as normal; today become more inadmissible. Toughening of national legislations and international conventions are forcing companies act within the frameworks of new global anti-corruption strategy and create own anti-corruption policy in business. Business scandals of last years make companies think about what risks the corruption follows. This given understanding, however should promote transparent and accountable business practice.

The object of Transparency International in fighting corruption in private sector is in changing companies’ behavior, developing and raising standards of preventing corruption and denial of bribery. For the realization of this object TI’s team creates instruments which are aimed at development of effective internal anti-corruption policy. One of such instruments is Business principles of - Business Principles for Countering Bribery a generic anti-bribery code developed by TI with a group of leading multinationals and non-corporate stakeholders. The Business Principles, which have become the cornerstone of TI’s private sector activity, provide a model of good practice adaptable to different company sizes and settings.
